Deepa A Agarwal
Founder and Chief Inclusion Officer
The author of the book, The Hangover of Choices, Deepa sets the tone and the strategic direction for us. A thought leader, Deepa has pioneered several interventions for organisations to help create more inclusive workplaces. Innovative initiatives like the digitised interventions on tackling stereotypes and biases, award-winning initiatives like Transition Guidelines: Returning Mother’s Project and thoughtful initiatives in the employee wellness space, to name a few.
The unique story telling that she has employed in her book is also a reflection of her out of the box approach, which makes the interventions powerful.
A student of philosophy and counselling, she has initiated many successful projects in the social and the corporate space. Be it creating leadership programs for school leaders, initiating self-help women groups in rural areas, and even working with women jail in-mates and jailors, she has been at the helm of it all.
She brings with her diverse experience of working across sectors ranging from academics, research, social sector and consulting with corporates. Added to this is her international experience across various countries, which makes her narratives rich, engaging and practical. Some of her favourite feathers in her cap are partnering with the UN-V to create a webinar series on social issues covering more than thirty countries, the over-subscription of her workshops for school principals, as well as presenting a paper at the IFEIL.
Her published works have appeared in People Matters and Emotional Intelligence and Leadership.
Some of the organisations that she has worked with include TISS as a Visiting Faculty, Marico Limited, Boyden International and the Madras School of Economics.
She is a spontaneous and an adventurous person and absolutely loves solo traveling to wherever her heart takes her in the moment. Right from eating the cuisine to interacting with the natives, she immerses herself in the local life, which makes for engaging and fun stories indeed.
